Granted, there are many beautiful Korean words and finding one favorite is not easy. Nonetheless, sitting on the train on my way to the airport (yes, I’m flying to Seoul tomorrow – squeeee!) I started pondering on what was my favorite Korean word. I’ve been learning Korean for exactly two years now, and one word that seems the most defining to me is 인연 (inyeon – meaning a connection or tie to someone). The word is closely related to fate, the idea that people are destined to cross paths in a meaningful way. I’ve crossed paths with many lovely people in my learning process, and I hope that I will continue to do so. Even though we’re not even there yet, my husband and I already feel the Korean warmth greeting us in the distance. I cannot wait to embark on this adventure, and I’ll be sure to share it all with you!

Yesterday was hard... I missed you like crazy and just felt like crying. Then, when I felt most miserable, someone very close to both of us sent me a text telling me to cheer up and have a good day. Just like you always used to do. That made me smile. Like you made me smile so many times before. Thank you ❤️ #loveyoualways
