The main picture says it all. It’s Monday! It also happens to be the last Monday before I leave for Korea (which will be exactly one week from today), and needless to say I’m super excited to be going. In fact the weekend cannot roll around quickly enough so I can start packing (very lightly as I know I’ll be doing a ton of shopping). Nonetheless, I have quite a few projects to wrap up before flying to Seoul for two whole weeks so I’m extremely busy at work.

I once read somewhere that one way where humans truly differ from animals is in their ability to anticipate future events. We are able to look forward to or dread the things that we expect will happen in our future. Right now I’m actually doing both. I’m looking so much forward to be going back to Korea, and I’m sure I’ll find lots of inspiration for future blog posts over there. So, why the blues then? Well, today just really feels like Monday in every possible sense. Although it started out just fine with half an episode of a Korean drama followed by completing one entire grammar point in Korean Grammar in Use, reality soon hit me when I went to work. First, I had a meeting at 9 which lasted way too long. Then I went over my schedule for this week, and almost felt stressed by just looking at it. Do you know that feeling where you have so many things to do that you feel like you’re falling behind before even having started? Well, that’s how I feel. To make matters worse I know I’ll have an extremely busy spring semester starting the week I come home from Seoul. So many deadlines are coming up, and I know that it’s completely irrational (albeit human) to worry about this in advance, but it’s enough to make me wish that my stay in Seoul would be longer than just the two weeks. Heck, I’m prepared to just go and stay there now! Ah, greed. Always wanting more!

To top off my Monday mood the weather here is really dark, cold and gloomy. It’s the kind of day where I just want to curl up on my couch and bingewatch one of my favorite Korean dramas while sipping tea. It’ll have to wait a few hours but I promise you this is how I’ll spend my evening! As the Koreans say: 뜻이 있는 곳에 길이 있다 (where there’s a will there’s a way!)

I’ll end my Monday rant here and share IU’s “Friday song” with you while we all wait for the weekend:

(mind control)

Na Na na na na
Na na na na na na
Na Na na na na
La la la la~

(mind control)

La la la la~
